97 1500 5.9L won't rev past 1500 RPMs!
Similar thing happened to me when my cat plugged-up. I was doing 65 on the freeway, slowed down in traffic, and couldn't accelerate. I pulled off, turned the truck off and back on (thought I was losing power). After I re-started it, the truck bogged-down severely, and wouldn't go over 1500 RPM.
Props to you for calling this. Looked under there last week and could see brake fluid running down the side of the tank and the front section of the MC is empty.
I might take it to a shop to tackle this one. I've never messed with brake lines before and I don't feel like laying on my driveway for a few hours in 20 degree weather. Any idea what I should pay for this work? I think it needs front calipers as well and I wish I'd gotten to that so the shop could just bleed the whole system.

I was quoted at least a hundred bucks to have it done...... Instead, I spent five bucks on lines, ten bucks on fluid, and replaced it myself in under an hour. Including bleeding out the brakes. Granted, it was warmer then.......
