out of a haynes catalog repair manuel. wrong? it is aint it? lol this might be my problem

 

aamco said the upgraded my tranny. it use to have a fiber filter now it has a metal incased filter.

 

my haynes manual says 46RE... not to mention i know, without a doubt that your truck came from the factory with a 46RE

 

so sorry i was looking at a Haynes techbook genereal motors automatic transmission overhaul book.

now my tranny has the metal filter now but before the tranny was rebuilt by aamco it has just a fiber filter ( no metal case around it) is it still a 46RE? i really thought it was a 46 RE so i need the transmission pressure soliniod sensor thingy?

i am very mechanical and worked on many a motor but the tranny is new to me. it hurt to pay $2800 to aamco. i need to learn to build my own. i have a 1974 GMC pickup i bought new and a 1997 dodge i bought new. i tend to keep things for ever.

 

i looked for the DYI and cant find it. can you post a link to it?

Grab the 01 service manual from the faq section, process will be in there. Should be the same as for your truck.
