if you live in an emissions state, but have a non emissions license plate (like oklahoma or arkansas) do you still need to run the sniffer test?

Also, does orange county NY still NOT test emissions unless you have a NYMA registration sticker?

i think you have go by the rules where ever you truck is registered. that is why i bought my 81. where i live anything 88 and newer has to do emission testing. obviously there is rules around this but you have to do the research. if i put a slant 6 in my 91 i could register it as a hot rod which would make emission not as strict with it.
