Default Good or bad idea?

Had my cat replaced for 200 and now it rattles again. So I was thinking about shooting a decent sized self tapping screw threw it. Should that fix my problem? Or just keep on listening to it? Its not tye heat sheildits thehoney comb on the inside

Running a screw into it will only break up the substrate even more, it will make your rattle WORSE.

What kind of warranty came with your new cat?

All catalytic converters are warranted for 100,000 miles, it's a federal law. Also it is illegal to gut the cat.

You don't have to worry about it unless they put a sniffer in the tailpipe.

Till your inspection mechanic sees the welds and decides he'd rather not risk his license for your sake. Not trying to cause problems hear, just stating the facts for anyone that don't know.

the weld wont give it away, BUT NJ is one of those lovely states that have bi-annual emissions testing which will tell the tale
