ECM swap question

Default ECM swap question

A guy at work gave me a ECM off his son in laws wrecked truck it is a 2000 5.9 46 auto 1500. Mine is a 01 off road. His has not been flashed mine has. Is this possible to due. Mine is a sport his is not. Called my local dealer and they said it wouldnt work? Just looking for ideas. If not then I will just buy a sct tuner. Thanks, steve

The 2000 probably came from the factory with the death flash......

Buy the tuner. You will like it. Sell the extra PCM on ebay.

Side note: You can get the SCT Tuner from Hemifever, you can contact him right here on this website. 275 for three canned tunes, 375 for custom. (custom is needed if you do things like cam, heads, injectors, etc.)

Mine has been flashed,the ecm from the 2000 model hasnt been flashed. But it sounds like I will buy a tuner from hemi fever.

the reason those PCMs don't work is because the relays in the PDC change from eyar to year or even model to model (Towing, not towing)

The PDC cover diagram is completely different from my 1996 and 2001.
