Default Is my TC shift lever upsidedown?

1994 5.2 Auto 231D TC

My 4x4 shift pattern is front to back 2 WD 4wd N 4Lo
The TC Shift lever faces down. When I am in the 4wh postion it is really in 2 WD push forward & I'm in 4WD.
This link has the shift lever facing up

TIA

Wonder if your transfer case got replaced with a newer flavor at some point in the trucks life.

Default TC Build date

is 6-8-94 according to the plate.
Whats interesting is that on the built sheet was a 5 speed manual & it now has a 727 tranny in it.
So it may or may not be the original TC. The date seems right

6/8/94 would put it as one of the very last '94s built. And I think you got screwed on the transmission deal!

The TC is a 231 D w/ a date of 6-8-94
The tranny is a 727. It was converted by a PO at some point.
This is the way I got the truck.
It all works except the 4x4 shift pattern.
The truck is not a daily rider . It pulls the boat in the summer & gets me to work in the snow. So lack of OD isn't of great concern.
I saw a 2000 TC in the DIY section & the shift lever was up.

According to drivetrain.com, shift pattern is 4HI - 2HI - N - 4L...... I don't know if that is a misprint, or what.

Mine is a 2500, so, I have the 241 transfer case, and mine is 2Hi - 4Hi - N - 4Lo

Your truck a 1500, or 2500??

Default 1500

Mine is a 1500
I went to drivetrain.com & it had the shift pattern as 4HI - 2HI - N - 4L for both the 231 & 241
Weren't the early trucks 94-96 2Hi - 4Hi - N - 4Lo ?
That what my shift **** say doesn't mean it right
Any way I saw a link from Genos for 96-97 which the lever was pointed up.

http://dodgeram.info/tsb/1997/21-12-97.htm

I'll contintue to mess around & get familar with the truck
