i pulled one out of a flooded 2001 for thirty bucks and all i had to do was swap the internal shifting plate took maybe 30 minutes and i got a chance to check everything out on the inside and make sure she was ok. but any t-case 97 and earlier will bolt right up. but if your gonna jerk the t-case you might as well just swap to a 241 out of a 3/4 ton or a 1 ton they are built alot better and come with a six pinion planetary instead of a wimpy 3 pinion in the 231. the 241 as a whole is way stronger and will bolt right up with no issues.

241 is longer is it not? Giving some issues on driveshaft fitment? Not to mention output spline count?

OOoooooo, that would be nice if it was a direct swap. Would be a great upgrade for the half tons.
