theres no "kit" for it. lots of custom pipe sizes and bends. best bet is to take it to a local shop if you dont have all the necessary equipment, and im guessing you dont. doesnt matter which side you put the o2 on.

i ran 2.5" pipe, mini h pipe by the bell housing for the o2 sensor, two magnaflow high flow cats (mine is obd1 so i only have one o2 sensor before the cats but you can put your other 02 sensor behind either cat) further away from the trans to keep it cooler then i ran two straight pieces of 2.5" all the way past my cab put two cherry bomb glass packs on it and finished it with turn downs before my rear axle. it sounds way better and i have never seen my ce light come on yet.

I have mine set up with 2 1/2" duel exhaust. It's done where the driver side pipe crosses over between the oil pan and the tranny pan under the bell housing. Then it runs along side the passenger pipe and parallel to the frame rail into an "X" pipe right past the trans cross member. My oxygen sensors are in the X pipe. The pre-cat sensor is installed like a typical sensor. The post cat sensor has an extension on it to pull the sensor out of the pipe a little. (spark plug non-fowler) from the X pipe it goes back to a flowmaster 2 in 2 out muffler. then dual 3" tips out the back on either side of the hitch mount. Can get pics of it if you want.

No reputable shop will do your exhaust and let you drive off without a cat. It's a federal offense. They will, however, be able to put a couple flanges on so that you would be able to easily swap the cats out for a test pipe.

The DIY option is to find a buddy and figure out what pieces you need, buy the pipes in pre-bent pieces, and weld it up. Make sure use use aluminized wherever you can (resists rust, although harder to weld).
You need to have at least an H-pipe, although for the purpose of efficiency and the pre-cat O2 sensor, an X-pipe would be better.
I would use 2 inch pipes myself. The cross-sectional area of the stock 2.5" diameter pipes is about 4.9 square inches, and running duals at 2" diameter results in 6.28 square inches. So, you are already losing a lot of exhaust velocity (worse low-end power).
Straight through mufflers also flow better (Magnaflow, glass-packs) than chambered mufflers (stock, Flowmaster)

It's supposedly changing- that all cats must be welded in as opposed to bolted- and that is federal. not 'sposed to pass vehicles with bolted cats anymore.. I don't know how enforced it is yet though...

I don't see how that can be regulated, the whole exhaust system is bolted on after all. And it's not a one-piece exhaust since it's so long
