Default radiator transmission cooler bypass

My truck came with the factory transmission cooler but it does not go through the radiator. Every radiator you buy has the cooler fitting on it. Since i dont need the fittings...how do i bypass them? 2001 4wd 5.9

If you are replacing the radiator, don't even worry about, no coolant will come out those ports. (at least, it better not...... )

Right from the factory the ATF flows from the transmission, through the radiator then to the aux cooler, and back to the transmission pan. It's best to keep it that way, or make it that way again.

Maybe a previous owner experienced a transmission failure that threw crud into the original radiator and was too cheap to repair or replace the radiator? That's relatively common, and not really a good thing to do.

And this isn't the first one we have seen here either.... there was another member with an auto, that didn't have the in-radiator cooler.

well i was just thinkin too much into it. Hooked everything up and works great. I promise you guys that its the way it came from the factory. The factory radiator didnt even have the fittings for the cooler to enter. All the lines have not been touched still have the factory coating on them. Truck has 125k on it.

Wonder if the radiator for the manual trans would have been cheaper. After all, that is basically what was in there.

well if you check the parts numbers for the 5.9 5.2 4wd and 2wds they are all the same. A 5spd is not even offered.
