Arrow no heat, help

blower motor works, temp changes to cool and back to warm just not warm enough at all. I replaced the thermostat and the engine get up to about 180 degrees according to the gauge. I think the problem is I put a fail safe thermostat in and maybe it's a 180 degree one. Is that warm enough to get good heat from or could there be another problem? I also just did the radiator and water pump not too long ago but the problem was even before that. I can't remember if I blew out the heater core or if that was in my 94 ram, this is a 98.

back flush the heater core. when you put the hoses back on, try and lose as little fluid as possible. Having a helper makes the exercise easier.
