If CM says it.. I trust it..

If ANY oil dislodges something in the engine that makes its way near one of those lifters when they are rebounding, they stand a good chance of sucking it up.. the port for charging the lifter is pretty small- about .009~010 in diameter.. if something clogs it, even for a second- I could so see a clack.. I'm guessing when it is being compressed, the same debris would be forced away, which would correct the problem..

If something small enough were to infiltrate that tiny port and get inside the lifter, that would light a fuse on the lifter methinks..

If'n syn oil does the things it's scientifically proven syn oil does, this wouldn't bode well for tiny openings and debris in the oil.. the debris, and the 'cajun crust' being the worst..

I'm going to open them up Unreg.. I'm wondering, now, if those things have that crust on the inside of them.. THAT, would wreck a seal, and a wrecked seal would eff with the intended stroke of those pistons, which would toss a spring out of whack.. I'm curious enough to do it now.

I've love to see some pictures of the innards undisturbed from their as-removed state!
