Huge pisser.. what would you do?
(For those who might not know: The PCM isn't involved in protecting the trans/engine against a potentially destructive downshift into manual low. It's an entirely hydraulic function.)
I was never saying to downshift at speed. Having the shift lever in either 1 or 2 manual it is not rev limited. You can shift at 5200 with no pcm/limiter protection. PCM limiter is set at 5k in D.
dont feel like reading this whole thread, but if you're still considering a 408, expect to shell out some cash... mines got almost $4000 in machine work alone, $1200 rotating assembly and those are the BASICS, not to mention countless others
haha just read it, long and interesting... thats what she said
im trying to recall Caution's last quarrel with Hey You, but dont remember the context. I just remeber chuckling to myself

stock limiter is 5200, and that is not over reving our motors should handle up to 5500 on occassion with no ill side effects, now stuck in a mud pit and standing on the throttle wont help keep a motor alive
Drew, glad you got it fixed nice and quick, good luck with the political part
