Need help with a V10
Buddy of mine has a 1995 Ram 2500 4x4 with the V10. I do not have much experience with these engines so I need a little input. It all started one night he was driving home when the truck died out and would not restart, he had it towed home and went to start it the next day. It started, ran for about a minute and died. Started it again and it ran for 10 minutes then dies. Now it will stay running but runs like crap. Whenever you let off the throttle really fast it drops low in rpms and almost stalls out.
First thing that I thought of was a fuel pressure issue, so i put a gauge on it and it reads about 38psi which is in the range of 35-45psi.
Engine still runs like crap though, already gave it a tuneup, plugs, wires, not sure what else on these motors.
Any input? Thanks

For the OBDI trucks, stick a paper clip in terminals a and b on the diag connector, and turn the key on. the MIL will flash codes at you.
Or, go to just about any parts store these days, and they will read codes for free.

The key trick does work on the OBDI too, I know because I tried it on mine to read the code I was getting. It goes like this:
The Key Trick:
1. With the engine off, turn the key to "RUN"
2. Turn key to "OFF"
3. Turn key to "RUN"
4. Turn key to "OFF"
5. Turn key to "RUN"
6. The check engine light will start to flash, count the flashes, it will pause between each number, and the pause will be slightly longer between each code, it will end with code 55 which tells you it is done giving out the codes

Sorry for the long awaited reply. I got codes 12 and 43, Recent Battery Disconnect and Ignition coil short or open. Not sure how to properly text the ignition coils on the V10's if anyone has any input it would be most appreciated.
