Yeah I'm not convinced on the timing yet! It would constantly mis if the timing were off right?

Not necessarily. MAP sensor reads manifold vacuum, it doesn't care that the readings just don't make any sense. So long as the PCM is getting a reading that is within the acceptable range of the sensor, it considers it Valid. Very seldom will a vacuum leak set a map code. Usually, what you find are the results of the leak setting a code, or causing a problem.

What do you recommend for finding vacuum leaks besides risking my eyebrows with a can of starting fluid the old fashioned way!?

Idle the engine and spray with WD-40. The idle will kick up when the vacuum leak area sucks in the WD-40.

Remove the TB and look in the intake with a mirror and light.
