alright where is the ground at do you know and i just took my buddies headlight switch and put it in mine and his didnt work in my truck either

so what im seeing is that power runs through the headlight switch to the multifunction switch to the bulbs each bulb has its own ground correct?

I think the ground is common for both lights. Have you checked the sockets? The one by the battery may be corroded from bat acid. I'm not spending your money, but at this point, I personally would replace the MF switch. And put all the info about your truck in your sig. That FSM is for 2001, and things change slightly from year to year.

when you say check the sockets how would i go about doing this? id rather do that than change that switch

Pull the bulbs, and have a look into the sockets. They can get gunked up, and cause a short.

Visually inspect them. An ohm meter would help too. I'm not saying it is the problem, but you have to at least eliminate the possibility.

yah they are clean.. i hate to bring this back up but before i fixed the battery temp sensor both my headlights worked just not the brights on them
