Transmission year of manufacture?

Transmission year of manufacture?
Great forum, wish I had found this site earlier.
1994 Ram 250 5.9L, 46RH transmission.
I have found the thread that says there are numbers separated by spaces and that the 4 digits in the middle are the date. Is there a code to determine the year of manufacture based on these numbers above the pan on the drivers side?
Thank you,
Tom.

Some help Zman, But I have a 10 digit part # PK52118328 not sure if it was a typo on the linked site. If the site is correct for the rest of the numbers it looks like the local transmission shop may have put a 1987 transmission in my truck, the two 4 digit numbers were 1987 6679. They were supposed to rebuild mine, which was the original transmission. The trans in the truck also has a pan on it that is different than the pan that they showed me with all of the metal shavings and burnt fluid in it.
Do you know if Dodge made the 46RH in 1987?
Thanks for the link Zman!

Thanks Gerehead, I'm not sure I have an A518. Can you tell it's an A518 by the numbers?
Does anyone know how to "decode" the numbers on the tranny? None of the numbers match anything in my vin# or the numbers on the engine.

I'm sorry I wasn't thinking when I posted and I didn't explain. The 46RH and 46RE dodge automatic transmissions are both A-518's. The A-518 is the classic Chrysler numbering scheme (like A-727 ect) while the 46RH is a newer way to number trannies that makes more sense. 4 is number of speeds, 6 is torque handling ability, R means rear wheel drive, and H is hydraulically controlled. All second gen dodge trucks with V8 engines have the A-518. The V6 trucks got the A-500 (42RH/E) and the V10 and diesel got the A-618 (47RH/E).
