Ok so basically no matter what i need to reprogram it. I do believe our scan tools can do that. I'll have to look in them. Thanks for all the help.

Ok after taking time off to go on my trip to fla. Which the truck didn't go. Came home ordered new PCM for it. Plugged that in and still ran the same crappy way. Backfiring and sputtering. Out of ideas. So truck is being towed to Dealer on Tues morning. Hopefully it's something simple now. Since I've pretty much replaced everything under the hood. LOL I'll keep you guys posted.

There are a few parts you should get from the $tealership. The only one that comes to me off the top of my head is the PCV. The unit for our trucks that the auto parts stores sell is a universal that works on thousands of vehicles (supposedly), and it works very poorly (if it works properly at all) for our trucks. Last time I checked, even at the dealership, it was around $10 or less for the proper unit that works very well.

I would have to disagree with O2 sensors, though. I'm using NGK (also called NTK) oxygen sensors my truck right now (not from a dealership), and they work just fine. Those were a little harder to find locally. Bosch sensors are easily found, but from what I read, they have pretty sloppy quality control. No personal experience with them, however.

Make sure and get that new PCM (or the old one if you reinstall it) programmed for the new engine, as cmckenna suggested.
