It had a bit less just thought it would last longer than that.
My dad just told me he thinks I only have 12,000 on the cap

I have some recommendations on this issue. First, let's start with the question about running an Al cap. Don't run those. WHY? Al is cheap and, it breaks down under voltage thus, it wears like mad. They only made those out of Al because it's CHEAPER to mass produce and, it's less wearing on their tooling. USE BRASS - SOLID brass terminals only and, DO NOT USE caps that have a SPRING loaded COIL terminal either for, I've found many issues when using those that, I've measured OPEN circuit from TOP side of the terminal to the spring loaded contact underneath. They are garbage and do not hold up nearly as well as solid terminals.

Next up is in regards to those photos. That damage is a direct result of a mechanical problem. Either one of two things happened there and they are:

- either the rotor was of cheap quality thus, the pop rivet that secures the brass contact to the rotor was sloppy that it became mis-aligned and nailed that edge there or, worse:

- the distributor shaft is worn thus, it's moving from side to side and up and down / excessive play in dizzy is know to eat caps.

Check it by removing the cap and feel for end play on the dizzy shaft. It should not move from side to side but, it will move up and down a tad. If it's moving upwards excessively, it may jump and drive the rotor into the cap thus eating it.
