Double gasket on the oil filter? Leaking pan gasket? Loose drain plug? A$$hole neighbor kids?

Then you would have little to no compression on that cylinder, or, worse yet, would be blowing extremely hot combustion gases into the that area.

What do your plugs look like now?

Default 2001 dodge ram 1500 5.2l 4x4 leaking oil in front of motor

Hello guys I am need if some help badly.The water pump went out so it is throwing water all over the place from off the belt when it spins like normal but also there is what looks like motor oil getting thrown around off the belt also. we looked but cant seen to locate where the oil is leaking and the oil preasure gauge is still about at normal. Does anybody have any idea where might this oil be coming from????? Thnx

all the plugs look pretty good, except the back driver side back plug, which is the one that has 70 psi, the insulator is slightly more black, thats about it.

Replaced them at the same time i did the plenum, at 181,000. Im at 184,000, as of a day ago. 3000!

They are pretty brown for 3000 miles.......

I wonder if your oil control rings haven't given up the ghost..... Wouldn't show on a compression test..... only way to really know for sure, would be to open up the engine, and look...

If you know someone that has a bore scope, or, a shop that has one.... might not hurt to poke it in there, and take a look at the cylinder walls, and see if there is any scoring.....

any new updates on this yet? I'm having the same oil burning problem but haven't done a compression test yet... I didn't want to start a new thread when this one is along the same lines as mine...
