Default Dreaded Rust

Okay peeps, so I've got rust. It was on the truck when I bought it, but the price was right so I went ahead and got it anyway. Is there anything that can be done without doing extensive body work? The rust is along the bottom of the cab... probably the normal areas that it accumulates.

TIA!

Clean up the rusty areas, hope there aren't any holes, hit 'em with something to protect them, inside, and out.

Oops, should have told you guys, already rusted through. It'll have to be cut off, but would welding on some sheet metal and bondo look okay? Then maybe cover it with some stainless? Has anyone done something like this?

That stuck is a rust preventer and stopper( if that's a word). And its black. But I dont know if you can paint over it or not. But I would do what HeyYou said and slap some POR on it for a quick and cheaper fix.

Yea I would use POR 15 did my whole under body with but be careful cuz once this stuff dries there is no getting it off. I had it on my hands, arms, and face for a month. It is really easy to use but make sure you stir. You can also paint over it with touch up paint if you want

Like I said, the problem is that the panels have already rusted through. It requires new metal.

Buy a rocker. Cut the old out. Weld in new rocker.

There is really only one way to do it right and make it look decent.

I get my panels from this company.
