99 dodge 1500 won't fully start
I have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 automatic it wont start at all unless i pull the cat sensor and it starts to run but cuts out when i floor the gas pedal any ideas did the cat get clogged up?
i'd agree.
if you live in a place w/o emissions testing, or want to take a chance on it, saw the pipe off behind the cat, bust out the insides, and blow it out completely hollow and clean. reassemble with a pipe sleeve (or weld). remove your front o2 before bashing with a hammer to prevent possible damage to it.

beat on the side of the cat and see if you hear your same rattling noise. that's the insides already falling apart.
