Default mopar pcm 5.2 vs 5.9

ok so took the girlfriends liberty in for routine service. and one of the technicians started talking to me about my truck. well long story short he had a simalar rig and has a few extra parts most i have but he has a mopar performance pcm for a 94 atx ram and said he would sell it for $100 bucks which i thought was a good deal..but my only problem would be he said it was for a 5.9 and i have a 5.2 would it work? would i need a reflash?

94 is OBDI, so, no reflash for you. Basically, it won't work very well, if at all.

They do have different part numbers for the 5.2 and the 5.9. But that is a good deal that is about what I give for mine on ebay. Even if it did not work for you I think you could sell it for what you have in it.

I doubt it will work correctly, but worse is the price. $100 is way overpriced. I paid about $50 for a Mopar Performance PCM, and I think $25 for the other regular PCM I bought. No way I would spend $100 for one.

That's fine, but i'm just saying, for a PCM that is used, may or may not work in the truck it came from, and probably won't work in the truck it is being purchased for, $100 is too much. Just my opinion.

Is it the truck it came from the same transmission and security group as your truck?

yeah the truck it came from was a the same truck i mean i saw the truck in person same trans every option was the same down to the color except for the motor...i was told it would not need flashed ( due to obd1 not being able to vin lock) so i figured give it a shot and see what happened. he said the only reason he got rid of it was he went with some company who did full custom tunes the name was something like b&g or something
