Those both appear to be 99's. Should be the same pattern.

Thread JACK!!!

What about swapping a 241 for a 231? my 1996 1500 just blew its case on the freeway and I found a guy that has one out of a 94 Cummins 3/4 Ton. he said hes throw me the drive line also, what would I need to swap to make it fit? I wouldn't mind the bigger case

I think, but, am not 100% certain.... that the output shaft for the rear, is different between the two cases. The donor truck would have to be the same cab style, and bed length, for the drivshafts to swap, but, the ujoints from the shaft, to the axle are indeed different sizes between the two weight ratings. Length might be different two, as the donor truck will have heavier (larger) axles. You might be able to get away with it, or, you might not.....

If you can get the axles as well..... and the two trucks are the same style/bed length, the stronger axles WOULD make for a rather nice upgrade.

Just make sure you check the input and out put splines. The 241 maybe different.
