really need help with trans problem

Question really need help with trans problem

ok i was goin to work an the trans started slippin an not wantin to upshift .on my way home it seemed to b fine then my truck jus goes dead while i was goin down the road so i pull over an started it back up but no gear no rev an not any forward gear it wont move. anybody got any idea wat it could b.oh its a 2001 1500 4wd 5.9

The engine quit while you were driving???

I think you have more than one problem there..... Start with the basics, check the trans fluid level.

yea drivin down the road an it jus shut off. i done changed fluid an filter.somebody told me to try changin the solenoids

swap the ASD relay with another one, see if that solves the dieing problem.

as for the trans, how many miles on it? ever had the bands adjusted? getting any codes?

73,000 idk if the bands have been adjusted i bought the truck used they havent been since i had it.codes p1757an it gives me code p1740 twice .oh an it only died that one time it cranks an runs fine now jus wont go

Unplug the 8 pin connector on the drivers side of the trans, and see if you can manually shift thru the gears without issue.

is that the connector right above the pan.also the guy who had it before me didnt remove the trans line check valve an i took the end with the valve off an no fluid came out when i started it up could that have something to do with it

That would be the right connector.

You won't get any fluid flow in park. Try it in neutral, (have a friend handy...... you will make a mess right quick.)

Ok this may sound stupid but is there some secret to unpluggin the 8pin connector I tried but it will not come off.oh an somebody told me it could b the torque convertor anybody think the same
