it's happening...
Totally dependent on what I see from the plugs. The V powers ran well for me. I couldn't get 1000 miles out of the autolites before it was noticeably rougher on idle.
I really am leaning toward trans issues though.

Little update today.
Power took another nose dive today, for an extended 2-3 seconds. Checked the gauges and the RPMs dropped about 500 and the sound of the engine bogged right down with it. My guess now is it's something other than the torque converter, as I would think that the TC unlocking would cause an RPM flare, not drop.
Perhaps the fuel pump is clogged/failing, as the truck snaps right back out of it and there's no apparent permanent lingering effects. No CELs or trans temp spikes either.

Man, that could be as simple as a corroded battery cable, or fouled connection somewhere. Could be a failing coil... Its always the simple thing that baffle the smart fellas, and tough things that happen to the dummies like me.
It'd be cool if it was simple, huh? And prove my rule to boot!! :-)

What's your angle unreg? Just curious... Reason I ask: I once saw a cracked dizzy cap on a LA ('86 5th avenue) that would condense moisture and make morning starts a pain- but dry out by the time it made it to the garage. It was real simple, hard to figure, and mainly because it was just after a full tune up.
