Default 98 ram 1500 wont start

Ok so days after fixing the neon the truck dies. My 1998 dodge ram 1500 4wd with a 5.9L will not start. The other day (friday) i was driving down the road at about 40 let off the gas and it felt like the truck shut off for about a second. It kept going and did it one more time on the way home. Didnt drive it saturday and yesterday took a while cranking it to start. Ran fine all day for the most part even while towing a car and trailer.

(Also not sure if its related but i noticed the oil pressure light drop to zero twice after i unloaded the trailer but the motor stayed running fine the whole time. Parked it and checked the oil, bout a qaurt low at 1000 miles past due for a change.)

So tonight went to start it to do an oil change and it wouldnt start. Heard the fuel pump whine up but nothing. Crank sensor is about 6 months old. Cap, rotor, coil, plugs and wires all within 7 months. Not sure where to start. Please let me know what you guys think!

Check fuel pressure, and then check to be sure it maintains pressure while cranking.

Might try swapping the ASD relay with like the wiper relay, and see if that helps.

See what fuel pressure does when cranking. If it slowly bleeds off, and the pump isn't running...... it 'might' be the ASD relay, but, I tend to agree with you on that score.

If it IS an ASD event though, life starts getting more interesting.

Yeah, sometimes I wonder what drugs the dodge engineers were on when they came up with some of this stuff.....

So today im back to not starting again. No chance at all. Checked spark again at the plugs and that was good. Checked fuel pressure im at 45 psi no bleed off. I checked the pulse at the injectors and had power so those are good. Not sure where to go from there though....help!
