Boy, do I feel like a dummy. There are threads on it. There was a rubber piece around the outside of the threads. I didn't know until I felt it. I just looked at it and didn't see any threads. Sorry guys.

After further thought on your water pump issue, there is another possibility: it's possible that they sent you the right part for your truck--minus the threads. Probably due to some overworked machinist forgetting to change a die (or something like that). In this case, it would be wise to take pics of the offending part, and have a short (possibly heated) conversation with a customer sales rep.

Not sure about your harmonic balancer; ive never had a issue with mine (though i have done one in my old chevy). Generally though, when working on pulleys; a pry bar is sufficient to hold it in place ( I do have a bad *** pry bar though--4 foot long 1' wide high carbon steel ). Just throw all your weight into holding it while someone cranks with the torque wrench.

Hahaha, that was my next question. Mine had the same thing.

I have pulled and pushed pretty hard and still no click from the wrench.
I had posted this earlier in this thread. It may have gotten overlooked. Anything?

You want to get a harmonic balancer installer tool to press it back on the crank. Then torque to 135. I screwed up the bolt trying to press the balancer on with the bolt.

That's what I was trying to do, but the bolt is still good. I will try to find one of those tools. Do you know if Autozone or some place like that rents them?

You can buy them for around $20.

Thanks for that info. I wish the write up on pavementsucks.com on timing chain replacement would have had that in the instructions (at least I didn't see it). I hope I didn't mess up the bolt. I guess I will know when I take it back out.
