Already did that. Brand new one did the same thing; put the old one back in and it did the same thing. The fellow at the shop said I needed a new instrument panel. Funny how it worked perfectly before I did all the work.

Did you put thread tape on the sending unit? That will disrupt the ground and give goofy readings.

No, everything is fine and seemingly working correctly. According to the mechanic, the gauge is not working correctly. Like I said, they took it for a test drive with a scanner and it is cooling correctly. I must have done something when doing the work. Or, it just stopped working all of a sudden. Things do go bad and sometimes all of a sudden.
