Newbies 5.9 van wont start (stranded)
First post.
1995 Van acted like it ran out of gas and died.
A couple of months ago the fuel gage started acting up jumping around so Ive been going by the miles and was at around 300 miles so I added 5 gallons and no fire.
Shot some starting fluid in it and nothing but a slight stumble at WFO cranking it over.
Tested and have spark at a plug, spark at the coil, 40-45 psi of fuel pressure and the engine light is flashing 55. (which from what Ive read means no codes found)
Desperate for help on what to check next. Got to get to work tomarrow or else!!

Possible broken fuel pump/ clogged fuel filter.
Are you getting fuel at the injectors? (Try the schrader valve looking thing on the fuel rail) Press it in like your letting air out of a tire. Does fuel come out?
Do you hear the fuel pump coming when you have the key in the 'run' position?
Oh and you need to post in the Van board, but many people here are familiar with the engine.

I presssed on the shrader valve and got fuel to come out after a little air. I also did a fuel pressure test at the same place on the fuel rail and got 40-45 psi. Also no start at all with starting fluid.
