Oil Sending Unit Removal Question???
1) Special socket to fit Oil sending units
2) Ratchet, Extension and a swivel adapter.
3) Make sure the engine is cold and take off air box and work by feel..
4) It took me longer to get the damn thing unplugged then to change it..

How did you finally unplugger the connector? It looks like there is a red plastic "pin" that needs to be removed or something like that?
the red tab is a sliding lock.
remove air filter.
climb up in there.
rotate the plug wires apart to create a little space.
locate the damn sensor and get you hand on the electrical connector.
slide the red tab sideways. you'll feel it click.
remove the connector upwards. i don't think there is a squeeze tab.
use the 1-1/16 socket and a moderate extension to replace.

i was thinking it slides side to side, rather than up and down, but --- i could be wrong.
don't use any excessive force. just gently slide it whichever way it wants to go. it takes very little finger pressure.

Get a small mirror and flashlight so you can tell which way the red sliding lock moves. The parts stores sell ones that telescope and swivel with about a 2" head for around $10, very good item to have around the shop for many uses.
