Default backglass slider question

hey guys, my slider glass in my truck has had a broken panel since i bought it. i found one for dirt cheap, but its from a '96. so my question is.... would a slider from a '96 fit into an '01? reason why i ask is because www.car-part.com says only sliders from 98-02 will fit. just want to make sure a 96 window will fit. thanks guys!

There are a couple different flavors of rear slider in the second gen trucks.... I have seen at least two different types, and that was in the junkyard...... If they both are the same style.... it might work. (if you just wanted to change the glass.) If you want to change the whole thing..... I don't think the window opening changed at all..... Check with LMC truck for verification before spending money though. (or, your local dodge dealer.....)

well according to lmc, the backglass from 94-01 are all the same, except for 95-97 club cabs(for whatever reason). so the back glass that i found will fit, but im not going to get it because its not tinted. i like my privacy glass and dont want to change it.

If you dont want the slider anymore, I got a price from a local glass shop for a new solid window: $350 installed. I'm still waiting for aftermarket to come out with a 3-piece window to replace the horrible 4-piece.

A window from a '96 should fit in your '01, although it will have the uglier black trim around it.

What do you mean? I have a 3 piece because my 4 piece would always leak.

I've never seen one before for our trucks.

My 4 piece is leaking now. WTF 350 for a solid back glass? I just got quoted 145 installed yesterday.

Someday, when I go through my truck, I'm getting a one-piece rear glass and dumping the sliding rear window my SLT has. They're a PITA and about as useful as **** on a tree stump.

I still like having one. Upen up the slider and the Quad Cab windows and you have some nice airflow coming through the cab without blasting you in the face.
