I dont sorry. All i know is I held my factory one up to the one I got in the lift kit and they were the same. So i called the dealer and asked, they told me that it was stock for an 01 off road. This dealer has mis lead me before, but ill try and give them a call tomarrow and see if they have to part number for yeah.

Viking...If you are looking for an arm for a lifted truck just call Top Gun Customz in TN. They will have what you need. If you just need a stock one Call the dealer and get the part number and Napa can cross numbers.

Why in the world would anyone need to replace a pitman arm? Aside from the previous owner being a blacksmith on meth and sticking it in an oven.

I HIGHLY doubt that the pitman arms are different on a Off-Road edition. Mopar, Rock Auto, and NAPA show no difference in the two trucks. Who cares anyway, it doesnt need to be replaced.

does anyone have a diagram or pics of a 4x4 2001 RAM, so I can see all the components since every store, autozone, napa...etc lists parts for my truck that are clearly wrong, I was told I need a track bar, drag link, idler arm and pitman arm BY THE DEALER, now it turns out that pitman arms dont have a ball joint at the end so I obviously dont need it and my truck doesnt even have an idler arm

Like Purple said, you dont need a pitman arm. Its a solid chunk of steel. The only way it goes bad is it breaks in half.

A Haynes or the manual download from the FAQ section would also help. You should have one or the other anyway. You would already know this info and other things before you go to the dealer or parts store.

The first one isn't a drag link at all... That's a track bar.

Other two, one is left side, other is right side...... no information on vehicle applications. Looking at them though, they must think that our trucks are twelve feet wide......

You would be much better off walking into the store, and telling them what you want, than trying to figger out the mysteries of their website........

You would also be much better off going over your steering linkage, and determining just which parts you actually need, rather than going with the shotgun approach...... You may replace parts that are perfectly fine. Knowing WHERE your steering slop is coming from should be the first step in this repair. You may find that ALL of your slop is in the BOX, and the linkages are just fine.
