I was told it needs those drag links and track bar, the diagram shows 2 long pieces but advance shows 3, all I want to know is which of the 3 fits. I don't why everyone is telling me to check what I need when I already did and I want to change it, even if its is OK shape, I still want to replace it with new parts since steering is important and plus these parts aren't even expensive to begin with, so I might as well

Look at the warranty on those parts though. One year? Six months? Going cheap on steering parts just assures that you will get to change them again in the not-so-distant future.

If you already KNOW what you need, go to the parts store, tell them what you want, and ask for parts with a LIFETIME warranty. You pay more initially, but, you never have to pay for them again..... Long Term Savings. Also, going TO the store obviates the need to pay for shipping.......

Make sure you get new adjustment sleeves/bolts as well..... trying to re-use the old ones is a major pain.......

He wants to replace everything for NO good reason! (because they are cheap is not a GOOD reason)So get a HAYNES or download the FSM from the FAQ section and LOOK under the f'n truck and compare the pics to what it looks like under your truck and buy the parts. Look at the pics for god sake, it names each part you want to buy.

And btw, in ANOTHER thread about the SAME topic, the OP states he is just "spending money wildly" whether or not the part(s) are bad. So get one of the manuals and compare.

I never asked about the quality, I don't care if I spend millions and have to replace it everyday, this isn't what I asked, why can't I just get the answer I'm looking for which is simple!!!

I know you don't care about the money, get the manual, that has a pic of the setup, simple enough.

Bring your truck by, let me have a look, make some calls, and I can hand you part numbers/prices. Otherwise..... the only way to do it, is to either:

1. Go to the parts store. Buy what you want.

2. Order something online, and when it shows up, see if it is actually the right part.

+1... Why any novice would attempt to work on any vehicle without some sort of manual, is beyond me. A forum like DF is great for general help, but the manuals have much more detailed info that a forum answer might miss.

Apparently not, because you cannot even figure out what parts to get. Getting parts at NAPA is common sense. That seems like a pretty hard thing for you to do.

Anyway, how would you know the torque on the fasteners?

You needed the diagram for the steering linkage. Guess what has that...The service manual!!! Holy crap!
