Our trucks don't really like aftermarket sensors in critical locations either...... might wanna pick one up from the dealer, and see if that doesn't improve its attitude.
The point Hey is making is that any aftermarket sensor, no matter the brand or standards made to, don't work really well in crucial spots of our trucks. Your best bet is to go to the stealership and get the sensor. I know, I hate them too.
EDIT: there shouldn't be any build up at all inside the intake. Unless your aren't running an air filter!
Ok, well I'm going to try and splice the harness back together on the original one before i spend the 130 that they want for it. if that fixes it I'll pick one up from the dealership. Laidoff with two kids so I can't really afford to spend that much right now.
