collision damage help?
Hey everyone, todays been pretty sad for me. My bro plowed his dak into the back of my truck in a parking lot by accident, and as you can see by the pic theres some pretty good damage to the drivers rear corner. Taillights smashed, bumpers badly bent, and the fender now has a softball sized dent where the bumper bent in. So, any advice on a course of action to repair? Ive been looking at taillights already, but im not sure how to begin on the dents... and if the bumper is still saveable in its twisted condition. Any advice?

if your truck was legally parked, His insurance should pay to fix all the damage to your truck. If you are both on the same insurance policy.... I have no clue how that would work.....
Now, if insurance isn't gonna deal with it.... take the bumper off, take the taillight out, and see if you can't bump out the dent from the back side. Paint IS going to flake off.... no way around that. Should be able to find a taillight/bumper in the junkyard somewhere......

is NJ a no-fault insurance state where everyone has to pay a deductible, or a normal state where the insurance of the person at-fault will pay.
if normal, and your brother has insurance, and he's not on the verge of cancellation, then just file a claim against his insurance.
otherwise parts from junkyard or ebay, beat it out like hey said. prime and paint with a rattle can. you can get your exact color in a rattle can on ebay for not much money, about $20. make your brother do all the work!!!!

Damn he hit it pretty hard, was he practicing drifting and lose it or what....um bumper can be saved to still use with a come-along, just pull it away from body, wont look right but will keep usage until finding one in a junkyard. the dent below tailight will be fun and just might be worth trying to find a shop to fix it, and find some tailights on ebay you like and make an upgrade.
this all counts if your trying to not get insurance involved, if you use insurance its probrably a $700 job at the least
Oh and you get any pics of his truck

thanks everyone for the replies. Insurance isnt an issue really, because he's my bro, and even though I could get whatever money for the damage, it would screw up his insurance premiums pretty good, specially cus he just started driving. Hes just going to pay me the costs of however I fix it. Which for now seems to be trying to un bend everything. I was looking on ebay for an upgraded taillight set too btw. And red, Ill put up some pics of his truck in a bit; Im probably gonna end up fixing his too, just because I cant stand to see any dodge truck with damage. Especially mine..

I would pull the bumper, taillight and either look for a new bumper or try to put it in a vise or something and bend it back out. I think it would be easier to just go to a jy and buy a new bumper, these things are damned stiff.
As far as the dent, I would try to punch it out VERY CAREFULLY with a hammer. BTW, start looking for new paint, like heyyou said, its gonna flake....its Mopar paint.
Have fun getting it to match. Welcome to the mismatch Flame Red paint club.
Best of luck.
