Default Doing Timing Chain today...

well...after the harmonic balancer breaking yesterday, and seeing how loose my chain was when i took the HB off, made me sceptikal......i procrastinated my Harmonic Balancer and what happened....she broke....and im not playing that game with my timing chain.....So im replacing it today....

Will have pics to come, as well as pics of the old harmonic balancer etc....

How old is your water pump? If you are not sure, replace that too..... don't forget the little bypass hose under the a/c compressor either.

Don't forget the chain tensioner, was not installed on the older motors from the factory, It's cheap and a good upgrade.

Well, the timing chain swap was a breeze.....old chain had alot of slack in it....Water pump and bypass hose was changed last summer....my tensioner is squeeling a bit, but it has for a while


But, i cant believe the power increase....my truck is back to life....New Timing set, New front seal, New harmonic balancer, did brakes last week....truck is running awesome....

I recommomend everyone who hasnt changed their chain to do so.....took me about 5 hours total, and was a breeze...didnt do TDC, just lined up the two punchmarks, and took out old and put in new.....SUCH a difference in the way it drives....

Videos and pics comming tonight....getting food first...

very nice man, i have my comp cam double rollor chain sitting here. waiting for a nice day to install it
