Ok, thanks. I found 5/16-18 x 2 1/4" from two different threads, one had length and the other had the thread size. Hopefully I get them and they are correct size.

Got the plenum done. It wasn't blown just yet, but getting there. All the bolts were tight. Unfortunately, I didn't get the new bolts for the intake, all I could find were just little too short. So I reused all but one which broke. And naturally it was the one at the drivers side head, closest to firewall. Got it off quite easily, but I had to remove distributor (which caused minor setback because I managed to turn distributor shaft and there was 50/50 chance to get it right) to have better acces to that broken SOB. Fix? Took a M8 tap and made a new thread to head. Not what I wanted but really was the only choice (wish I had taken those shorter bolts, might have worked). When I was torquing them down, I could tell how they stretched, so I'm going to replace them soon, before they break on their own.
Next I replace all the spark plugs, check the O2-sensor and possibly replace the CAT.

Default This weekends project

Ok, made through 84 pages. Plan on ordering parts tonight and starting project Friday night, but before I start a question.

Parts list; Hughes kit, front o2 sensor, pcv (from dealer), and thermostat.
Which thermostat 180 or 195 degree?
If I go with Hughes I don't need to order correct hardware?
Plugs, wires, coil were changed last year. Water pump 2 years ago. Timming chain I will do later this year.
Thanks!

Getting started. Apply pent. oil a few days ahead to I.M. bolts. Should I warm up engine before trying to break torq on them?

I was going to go Hughes... Went with the ebay plate instead. Here, plus you support a fellow forum member. Excellent fit. Comes with bolts for the pan.

Also went with the intake gasket set from rock auto. Here, comes with all basic gaskets, 195 thermostat, and bolts for both the pan and intake... These bolts are DEFINITELY not TTY, and you'll need to check torque after a few miles. (Some debate on whether the stock ones are or not... I don't think they are.)

Change the plugs again anyway. You've been burning oil now for a year... Really wanna save $10 by using fouled plugs? I didn't.

I also did the timing set and pump at the same time because:
1. I'm a glutton for punishment.
2. I would have already had half the stuff off/out of the way (fan shroud, fan, alt, compressor, etc)
3. I would have already drained the coolant.

And finally, please please please soak your intake bolts with PB blaster/rust penetrant of your choice for a few days first. Start now. I did, and all 12 bolts came out nice and easy.

Yep. I've checked torque twice now after warming the engine, without removing anything else. Kind of have to wiggle the injector plugs out of the way though...

Could someone tell me if this is from the plenum gasket or pcv? Its on my 2002 1500 4X4 5.9 only 40,000 miles. I have had a problem for a little over a year, misfire on cold start and very rarely when warmed up. Even the cold start misfire is random, sometimes it will and sometimes it won't. OBD says its cylinder 8. I've looked down the intake and couldn't see anything before, yesterday I bought a inspection camera and pushed it down there. I didn't see any oil until I looked at the back (firewall side). Doesn't seem to be tons of oil but it is there. Haven't noticed any oil or coolant disappearing.

Pooled oil is from blown plenum. Looks like you need to fix yours.
