Default clearance with 37" tires

how much of a lift am i looking at to clear 37" tires comfortably. I was checking out the tough country 4.5" lift, and possibly a 2" leveling kit. Will i need to clear more ground than that to make these 37's fit nice?

If its a 1/2 ton, you'll need Dana 60 axles.

Most lift kits also level the truck..... so, if you install the lift, then put in the leveling kit, the front will sit higher than the rear. Careful with that.

Seems most recommend 5" for 35" tires, so, you may wanna go at least 6".

Don't forget about gearing properly for the tire size.

my buddy has 5 inches of lift and runs 37s on the stock axels with soft 8 wheels with no rub issues. and the truck is not a pavement queen. its an animal in the mud. but theres i correct way too do things and this is not the correct way

I'm not planning on running it to hard in the mud, most of my driving will be street. I seen a 5.5" kit by fabtech, if I do that with a 3" body that seems like it would clear nice.

From my experience, driving though mud isn't really any kind of test as to whether you will have rub issues. It is rocks and washouts and anything that causes suspension articulation. That's when you will find out that big tires rub or not.
