Ok just went outside and started it up, and started driving immediately, up untill the engine warmed up. It skipped hot or cold everywhere but idle or flooring it.

Missed you post till just now, sorry about that. I get a nice long blue spark off all my sparkplug wires. Some guy from autozone told me a coil either works or it doesnt, so i havn't put to much thought into that. Is that statement true?

Usual signs of a failing O2 sensor is it starts running funny after running for about two to three minutes. (when the O2 sensor heats up, and the PCM actually starts paying attention to it.) If your problem manifests immediately, it probably isn't the O2. If it's pretty old though, sure wouldn't hurt to replace it.

Alright, I am heading home in a couple of hours, to test....

ToDo:

- Check Sparkplugs for Improper Fouling
- Take Fuel Rail & Injectors off to clean
- Check Plenum
- Run OBD-I Diagnostic test
- Test Fuel Pressure agian
- Replace vacuum lines.
- (Possibly replace o2 if nothing else works.)

Will report back this evening with my findings.

if its skipping right out of the box i wouldnt be changing o2 sensors because that a waste of a few hundrad bucks. i would be checking fuel pressure. timing and firing order. intake to see if its burning oil or not. and if its the same little skip i hard i would be changing the cam gear and doign an intake set because the teeth on my cam gear where shot. also the fuel filter and pressure regulator can cause this. a delay in any one will make a skip.

and got the coil thing. no the autozone guy was wrong. i have two coils that work great until the truck is warm or until your under WOT for a few seconds and the coil heats up then it dies. and normally coil brake downs will cause a skip. the chevy V6 cars are known for it. the gen 2 3400 and 3800 have split packs and they brake down the same way causing a skip.

Engine too cold to long is usually the sign of too cold a thermostat installed, or a thermostat that has failed in the open position. Usually it causes you to run rich.

Update: Checked off that list of ToDo's, Everything is clean as a whistle.

Was on the way home, stopped by autozone and grabbed a MAP and Fuel Position sensor just to rule them out. Turns out the map NOR the FPS was the culprit. SO... its not them.
