Default How Is The Door Seal Attached?

I need to take the door seal off at the bottom inside of the doors so I can grind and repair the rust before it gets worse. Is that seal glued on, or is it one of those that has the metal clamp strip, or is it attached another way?

I think it is just stuck on there with weatherstrip adhesive. Which tends to hang on REALLY tight. You may not be able to get them off without damage. New ones are available though from LMC truck.... Softseal, etc.

Man, I was hoping I wouldn't hear that....GRRRR
I HATE that adhesive stuff! Course as bad as it's rusting on the bottom it might come right loose....
I'd like to kick the engineer in the sack that didn't direct the factory to spray anti-rust stuff in the door when they made it...No rust on the whole truck except the bottom of both doors - and I have babied and cleaned and done what I could to prevent rust....

I have a '94 1500 and need to replace the drivers door seal as it is rotting on the upper most part of door. Do you have a link to the LMC seals?

If you've already got the interior plastic out they just pull right off.

the seal completely fell off my door, left the adhesive strip behind. i put it back on with whatever white silicone i found in the garage and its holding tight. so if you pull it off try that rather than spending cash on the new ones

Thanks bro! After re-looking at mine, I just needed the piece that goes on the cab..So that was only $19.95.
