Default Cruise Control

I have a 1995 Ram 1500 5.9L 4x4. I bought it about a year ago and it supposedly has cruise control. It has the correct steering column and servo in it already. But NONE of the cruise buttons do anything. I don't even get a cruise light on the dash. All the fuses are good, but I cant seem to find what fuse this would be anyway.

So.... where should I start?

On the earlier models, the light was on one of the 'buttons' on the steering wheel. On mine, I have to press, and hold.... the on/off button for a second or three, then release, to get power to come on.

Don't know what fuse it goes thru though... anything else not work? Air bag light on?

Nope. Just went out and tried holding it. No luck. I see where the light is on the buttons, but it never comes on. I don't have a airbag light on. But when I flip the key from off to run.... there is no air bag light. Wouldn't surprise me if the previous owner took the bulb out to pass VA state inspection.

you might try and replace your break light switch. i had the same thing happen the break lights would work but not the cruise control. the break switch has like 6 pins any way i think 2 of were for the cruise.

I know on my truck, the steering wheel has to be centered for it to come on.

Worth a shot and free.

On my 95 there are no indicator lights for the cruise, there is one switch for on and one switch for off, and the two buttons for coast and accel, you know the cruise is on because the on switch stays "pressed" until you push the off switch.

My cruise wasn't working, but it was because the vacuum line from the cruise control servo had become real brittle and broke.

So is there an indicator light on the '94 when cruise is on?
