ok so i did a auto to manual conversion on my 96 dodge ram 1500 with a 360 i replaced my 46 RE with a 86 NP435 granny 4 speed, everything works like a dream, but my check engine light is now on im assuming its because the CPU isnt reading the computer anymore so im wondering if there is a quick wireing bypass to fool the computer into thinking its there. anyone have any thoughts
frozen you put a trans out of a 1986 dodge into your 1996?
wow your gas milage must be at like 8 mpgs! lol especially a 4 speed with granny first, but i bet you could yake a tree out of the ground with no problem
I did a tranny swap on my truck I have a 94 1500 with a 318 an I put in a nv3500 I nvr flashed my pcm an it runs fine.. Should I flash it though ?
You don't need to. The 1994 auto (46RH) has an actual governor not a governor solenoid and all the other electronics. The only things that are electronic on your tranny are the park/neutral sensor (should now be the clutch sensor) and the OD and lock up solenoid. You might get a code but it should not effect anything.

Its going to be better than yours if you ran around with OD off (both trannies would be 1:1 and no torque converter slip or power loss to a pump in a manual). It would make a great tranny for a beater or something that tows all day.
