How can I get my A/C to be cold?

Default How can I get my A/C to be cold?

Well summer is creeping up and it's starting to get pretty hot here, tried my a/c and it's luke warm and not even close to cold even with it on max a/c.

Might just need to charge it with freon. I think the procedure is in the FSM (available here in the FAQ section).

Freon may be controlled in your area (damn epa/state emissions standards), but down here I can get it at oriellys. Its super easy to charge....

Need R134a. You should be able to buy it at wally world, or similar stores. Get the can that has the gauge on the hose. Follow the directions. Works good.

One thing I forgot to mention: wear gloves if possible when charging it with the r134... the can gets really really cold (I believe the expression is 'colder than a witch's tit in a brass bra in december').... now to return to homework.

also its recommend to add a can of compressor oil to lubricate all your ac components. you can find it in the same kind of can as the freon and its usually right next to it.

Im hoping my ac don't ever go bad, last few times I've turned it on this year it gets down in the high 20's ... can't complain there... I hooked up a recharge can once with a guage and it said it was at 120 psi
