because when sealing one surface to another, I much prefer something between them that will actually fill the minor gaps, and has some hope of conforming nicely to both surfaces. I am thinkin' a steel gasket doesn't fit those qualifications. Sure, it might work just fine, but, I don't wanna have to mess with it again, and I know for a fact that the felpro gasket, when installed properly, will indeed be a permanent fix.

Yes, I am ****. Don't tell anyone though, ok?

When I got my kit from hughes it came with a rubber gasket and has some blue gel on both sides.
