So does anybody have any ideas on the timing chain? If I get the SCT do I still need to retard it 4 deg?

On a side note, ceramic coated JBA shorties for $450......I think thats about as good as it gets!

Everyone around here raves about the double roller chain. Do a search to get specifics, but I think most people get it from Hugh's. I don't think any timing changes are needed, but I'll let the wiser users here comment on that.

Those JBAs are a good header. IMPORTANT NOTE:
1. Buy the edelbrock gaskets for the headers (25 bucks at autozone).
2. You may want tog et a cheap ratchet strap to mate the y pipe to the header flanges. Fully tighten headers then get the y pipe flange over the header flange. They were about a centimeter off.

Here is the DIY I did when i put on my headers. It has pics! Take a look at the headers! They are nice looking.

About the retard, you can do that, but i think that 4 degrees is a bit much. Just tell hemifever (sean) that you have it at that setting when you get the tuner. If i were going to get a timing chain, I would get this one below from hughes. It comes highly recommended by Cmckenna. He is a pretty knowledgeable guy on this forum.

Timing chain: +/- 2 degrees

If you are going to keep your truck a while, get this as well.
Tensioner: Replaces thrust plate.

Well, headers are on their way to the house. Tried to get the SCT ordered but seeing how Im out here playing in Afghani Land, cant get my pcm P/N. Guess that will have to wait till Oct. Talked to Hemifever, said leave the timing stock. Kinda figured that b/c of all the advance from the tuner. I guess I will go ahead and get my timing chain and tensioner sent to the house. Now all I gotta do is wait to get the hell outta here.
