Default Open rear with 4.56

When i put in 4.56 gears in my truck i wanna pull a posi so do i have to get a locker? i think its open rear because i turned my wheel one way and the other one went the opposite. If so where could i get one and does the gears affect what size locker you need?

Posi, or locker. Posi's generally use some variety of clutch system, so there is some slippage between the wheels, lockers are... well... locked. No slippage at all. Some folks don't care for the road manners of a locker in slick conditions, be it snow, ice, rain, whathaveyou. Others wouldn't drive without 'em..... Just a matter of getting used to it.... and adjusting your driving style accordingly. Since you have a chrysler 9.25 rear in yours, I don't think the carrier cares what gears go on it. The front Dana 44 will though.... If you go 4.56, you will have to replace the carrier in front, or, get thick gears for the front.

There are a fair number of options for ya. Just depends on what you would prefer, for lockers, Detroit seems to be the brand of choice. I think Auburn? for Limited slip??

Auburns for LSD are pretty good. Silver uses one, IIRC, and I will have one installed here someday. Its sitting in my garage, waiting for install money to grow on my money tree...

Its currently stunted by all the rain we've been getting up here. As soon as it comes out of it, I will send you the second cutting.
