Default Weekend repairs

So I've been having the issue where my tranny won't shift from 1-2 or 2-3 and near redlines unless I release the gas or punch it. So I have decided to fix the issue.

Here are my plans.
TV cable adjustment
TPS
Governor solenoid
Governor Sensor
Also doing a drain and filter replace.

Hoping this works. Any advice since this is my first tranny venture?

try the governor pressure sensor and solenoid first.
then TV cable.
TPS is a long shot, but it is easy, cheap, and foolproof.

Yeah the TPS is only $29.99 and easy to do. Should I get the GM to dodge solenoid or just the regular dodge one?

As for bands. I'm kinda iffy about messing with those.

Dumb question, do I need a new gasket for the pan?

The pan gasket is supposed to be reusable.

Since you'll have the pan off anyway, you might as well replace the filter. Most filters come with a new gasket anyway. Just avoid the cork gasket.

The GM solenoid is self cleaning, so it should avoid the problems that are plague the Dodge solenoid.

I'm doing the filter as well. I'll prolly just get a new gasket in case.

Would it be better to get my parts from a tranny place of from a parts store?

Doesn't matter. They all sell the same parts. There was another thread around here somewhere that had links to higher quality, better designed, direct fit, governor solenoids and sensors.... Might wanna dig that one up if you want to change them out.

Either is fine, I don't know if the GM solenoid is a direct replacement, might want to contact patc of they're open today.
