Default Precision Engines?

I ordered a 360 for my 97 ram 1500 and just installed it yesterday and got it running today. I am completely unhappy with the workmanship of the engine. I drove no more than four miles from my house and the engine threw a rod and put a hole through my brand new oil pan. Has anyone ever had this issue? Im extremely pissed off and I did not want to do this job again.

You didn't happen to reuse the harmonic damper or flex plate from the 5.2, did you?

WOW! I've installed hundreds of Jasper engines and transmissions in various vehicles, and have never had a single problem with them. I've never heard of Precision Engines before so I can't say anything about them.

I replaced pretty much everything and did everything right. The truck was good on oil i rechecked it after letting it circulate. The engine came with the new harmonic damper, and i got a new drive plate from the dealer for the 360, I replaced the oil pump drive shaft and gear along with the pcm and distributor everything from the exhaust to the radiator is all brand new. It just really sucks that I'm gonna have to do the job over although on a better note ill know really well how to do it
