Default park

Well I was having an issue from first to second. think is gov. solenoid and sensor. have those new now ready to put in.

but now truck won't go into park. disconnected linkage at tyranny, and column and linkage is good, using linkage on top of tyranny it still won't go into park. getting ready to drop pan for solenoid and sensor replacement, what should I look for in there regarding the park position?
please help, thanks!

When you drop the pan, remove the E-clip and the parking rod (warning: the E-clip is a PITA to reinstall). If you can manually shift it into park, then you have an issue with your parking rod engaging. If you can't, then you have an issue in your valve body ans rooster combo. Hope this helps.

So either way this isn't going to be a simple fix? It wouldn't be related to gov pressure sensor and solenoid would it?

Nope there not related. I could be mistaking but you'll see it when you drop the pan on the drivers side.

not to jack this thread but i was having a problem with my truck hitting rev limiter on 1st to 2nd shift. i put a tranny cooler on it and now i dont have that problem. i thought it was the gov snesor silanoid. even took it to a shop they convinced me if it was there would be alot more problems than just that.

Seems like the job is bigger than I can do. Gonna get rebuild. Said between 2-2.5k, that price seem reasonable with a shift kit, and installation of the new gov sensor and solenoid I just got. Not gonna waste my time changing those and still need to take it in to get park issue solved.
