Default Changed Gov Solenoid/trandusor, still wont shift

My transmission was shifting slowly and then after changing my dead battery the transmission stopped shifting out of 1st. I changed the governor pressure sensor and transdusor solenoid and it still won't shift out of 1st. I'll admit that I spilled some ATF and the fluid is low right now.

So now what? I had the ATF flushed and changed when the shifting got sluggish and the transmission started shifting like normal. Then I let the truck sit for about a two weeks and the battery died. Right after I replaced the battery the truck stopped shifting out of first.

The truck is a 1997 Ram 2500 5.9 Gas 4x4.

Thanks,
Steve

When you say flushed, do you mean like at a shop? If so depending on the mileage that could be your problem.

I wouldn't bet on your battery, I agree with 97tn4x4, if you flushed instead of drained that could be a problem. My truck has the same issue, I took it to a trans shop and replaced my sensors, that didn't fix the problem. Next day it got worse quickly until it just wouldn't shift anymore.

When you replaced the sensors did you see any metal shavings in the pan?

No metal shavings. The fluid in the bottom of the pan did look a little goopy. I had it the fluid flushed and changed at jiffy lube. I plan on refining the fluid and if it still Wong shift out of first I guess I'm.going to AAMCO.

dang dude.. you got in the jiffy lube fryer, and now you're going to jump in the AAMCO burner?

There is no telling what Jiffy Lube did to your truck.. power flushed via the fill tube no doubt, then what did they put in there? ATF+4 or good ol' dextron? AAMCO? dang man...

order a PATC.. if that is too steep, get a Dr. Evil.. but for the love of God, don't go to AAMCO.. for what it's worth, consider your jiffy lube experience as a very expensive lesson.. sorry man.. that sucks..

Okay, so I had jiffy lube flush my fluid. What damage could that have done that now I'm stuck in limp mode?

Before you do anything. Take the truck out and start the transmission off in low gear, and manual upshift from low, 2nd and then drive. Will it upshift? Them post back on what happen.

breaks loose all the crap in your trans that has accumulated over time, so it can then circulate thru the trans, and jam/clog things up. Flushing a trans that hasn't had it happen on a regular basis, is an invitation to disaster. (and a siren call for a rebuild.)

It won't shift out of first no matter what I do. I've even unplugged the 8 pin connector and tried to shift it manually and it still stays in first.
